Making A Character

As he was making his tutorial alien, I sort of ran off the wagon and made my own. It's still using his module, it just won't look like his.
Just goofing around with my default mesh to make a sort of Jester-Raptor-Alien.

The original mesh in a different view.

Beginning Volume 2

I think I can pretty much handle 1 object at a time in ZBrush.

Ending Volume 1

So he gave us an ending assignment and even though I didn't have to do it, I pieced something together really quick.

Lesson 12 of Volume 1: I'm sleepier than Java the Hut

For some reason, when I went out of Edit mode to make the base, it wouldn't let me go back into edit mode for the weird thingy we've been making. I can append, but It won't let me re-edit.

Masking

I can Understand, I can do it, I just need practice.
He says to use Ctrl+Shift to do reverse masking. For us it's Ctrl+Alt.

Adding Detail to the rock faces

Honestly, when I first saw this project files I thought he was modeling a bowl of poop.

Lesson 9: The Wheels on the Bus just hit a crater.

I can understand what he's doing, and to an extent I can do it! At some point in the lesson I accidentally hit a wrong button and my mesh disappeared. I'm having a little bit of trouble, but I think it's all manageable. I'll most likely jump onto his file again, so I don't accidentally hit the fence.

Lesson 8 Redux: I fixed the problem!

When he had us ReMesh, he never mentioned about a new object being made. You have to go under subtool and choose Skin (the second one).

Random Bowl Thingy

I can't seem to get things to work the way I want them. I understand WHAT he did, but for some reason I can't DO it.

ZBRush Volume 1 Lesson 7: Poly Selection

I was having some problems doing an inverse selection, but I've pretty well grasped the regular selection, and I can roughly do what he does with it.

Devil Birds. Accidental Madness

Accidents happen.

Silent Hill Pyramid Heads... Have pet birds!?!

I was trying to get the move tool to work, but for several minutes it was modeling. I finally figured out that I didn't click "Make PolyMesh3D" Button. The Pyramid Birds were happy accidents.

The Reign of ZBrush!

I honestly have no idea what I'm doing. This is about video 4 I believe, in the first QuickStart Volume.

Lesson 49: Tweaking, Shoulder Squeaking and Component mode blues!

I fully understand the usage of weighting and how he goes about weighting. I don't think I'm one for painting, but who am I to judge? Most of this seems to be based around precision and tedious work. Sounds just like UV mapping! I can't seem to get into component mode. He keeps using F8 and I search but find no simple alternative. The only other answer I can think of would be selecting the individual UVs (carefully). If one isn't careful, they'll end up shifted to all of the other objects within the selection marquis range.

Lesson 47: Twisting my arm

I think this whole business of adding twist controls is pretty understandable. I haven't gotten lost so far. If anything, I've actually gained some clarity in areas that became slightly fuzzy over my frantic schedule this past week.

Lesson 45: Painting Class

I feel like I'm in a painting class with all this weight painting that's going on.

Lesson 43: Joints for the jacket belt

This is all pretty easily understood. I think they've repeated the same steps enough times for me to have a pretty good idea of what to do.

Lesson 40: Unburned Eyebrows

This is exactly what happens in the eye lesson, just without the upside-down mirror. It's  do-able, and he's menacing.

Lesson 35: I Understand

I understand what's going on. It takes a bit for me to reproduce it, but I completely understand it. It's just a lot of tedious work, like UV mapping.

Lesson 31: Global Control

I actually understand everything he's saying! I'm starting to scare myself.

Lesson 27: Resting the Elbows

I actually remember working with the elbows from some other time. seems pretty easy, I've done it with the other body parts.
The sizing of the various nodes keep changing whenever I open a file, and I got fed up with it. I'll fix them later, right now I want chicken.

Lesson 22: CNC! It's Dy-no-mite!

This CNC stuff seems to be really helpful.

Lesson 18: Eye Rigs

This lesson seems ridiculously easy. I wish I had gotten further today, but I got distracted trying to find connections on LinkedIn and helping Anna-Lise?

Rigging Game Characters in Maya Lesson 15: Working with more Control Boxes

I like playing with these boxes. I find that it's actually quite simple.

I'm starting to get through more lessons, but I don't think I'll quite hit the 20 mark by class. Don't get me wrong, I'm going to give it quite the shot and even if I miss it won't be by much!

Lesson 10: We got some knee joints!

Working with the diamond control joints are pretty easy, and reflecting using a negative number and freeze transformation will make things much easier for me.

Rigging Game Characters in Maya: Lesson 5 and redoing Lesson 4

After a lot of painstaking trial and error, I figured out how to do the rigging properly. I've figured out how to do what he does without the searchbar or the quick buttons.

Rigging Game Characters in Maya: Lesson 4

The IK Handles are extremely easy to understand. I did have some problems redoing the joint orientation, but I think I managed.

Rigging Game Characters in Maya: Lesson 2

This lesson was all about keeping things organized and tidy. It was pretty easy to understand.
